For a believer, death is not something to be feared, but something to look forward to! There are many promises and images in the Bible, which describe how heaven will be, and there are many ways that you can think about death in a positive way. It is leaving sickness, disease and pain behind, and walking away free forever. It is saying ‘goodbye’ to one family, and leaving to meet all those in Yeshua who went home before you. You will have no regrets, because all sorrow and tears have passed. It is leaving behind pain, anger and fear, and walking into a new lifestyle of joy and Shalom. It is falling asleep tired, and waking up recharged to live forever. It is like going to the destination of your dreams, only to realise that you hadn’t dreamed anywhere near big enough! It is a well-trodden path, where millions have walked before you, and met Yeshua face-to-face. The Bible says, ‘When’ this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory, O Death, where is your sting – O Hades, where is your victory!’ (1 Corinthians 15:54-55). There is no longer any power in death for the believer; Yeshua has died, and has risen again; He has defeated the power of sin and of death, and the grave can no longer hold Him – or you! For you, and those who have gone ahead, beauty awaits! If you still fear death, read and believe Yehovah’s Word, until you are confident in your eternal future! Remember that Yeshua has conquered the grave, and that you will rise again in glory!
