‘Zeal for Your house consumes me’ Psalm 69:9 (NIV)

King David was a man who was extremely passionate about Yehovah and His Kingdom. How about you? Do you have such a zeal and passion, for Yehovah and His Kingdom, that it consumes you? Let me ask you this: are you Consumed or a Consumer? There is a big difference between the two. Someone who is consumed will pour themselves into the Kingdom of Yehovah and the things of Yehovah, whereas a consumer only takes things. But it will be a people who are consumed for Yehovah, and His Kingdom, who will change this generation, so make the decision in your heart that you will be one of them. When David brought back the ark of Yehovah to his city, he ‘danced before Yehovah with all his might’ (2 Samuel 6:14). He really danced – his wife, watching from a window, saw him ‘leaping and whirling before Yehovah’. When she mocked him, David replied, ‘it was before Yehovah and I will become even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight.’ (v.21, 22). Are you passionate enough about Yehovah, and about His Kingdom? Do you love Him with such abandon that people don’t understand it? David expresses his love in this Psalm, saying that Yehovah’s house is his house, and ‘the insults of those who insult you fall on me’. That is taking Yehovah personally! How do you feel when people insult Yehovah? Do you take it personally? If you do, you could well have the same heart as David. Be consumed, not a consumer.
