‘The eyes of Yehovah search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.’ 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NLT)

In the days of King Asa, Yehovah was looking – roaming to and fro – searching across the earth for committed followers. He still searches the earth today. He is looking for one life, fully surrendered to Him, that He can use to make a difference – one life that can be used to change history. Yehovah uses anyone who is willing to be used; people of any age, background or race. He uses men and women, educated and uneducated, old and young, rich and poor, to bring about His purposes. The Prophet Isaiah reveals three qualities that Yehovah is attracted to in an individual. ‘This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my Word.’ Isaiah 66:2 (NIV). These are three simple but powerful characteristics: 1) He looks for humility. This means people who have a modest and honest view of themselves, who spend less time focussing on themselves, and more time thinking about, and serving others. 2) He looks for contriteness or brokenness. This is a person who feels, and expresses, remorse when they have done something wrong, rather than try to shift the blame and make excuses. 3) He looks for people who tremble at His Word. Those who take what Yehovah speaks through the Bible seriously, and who act on it, leading them to live in a way that is compatible with the teachings found in Scripture. When He finds such a person, His simple but profound desire is to bless them, and to give them strength! Remember, He is continually looking for those who will worship Him with their whole lives. Will your heart capture His attention?
