SPIRITUAL HEALTH
'Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as Yehovah forgave you' Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV) All Posts It is likely that wherever you live, your government has a health strategy. Updated annually, the document will set out government health targets to decrease obesity and tobacco consumption, and to increase regular exercise and healthy eating habits. They want people to be fit, for life. The word 'health' contains very broad terms of reference, including physical health, women's and men's health, sexual health, mental health and developmental health. One thing,...
BUBBLES OF LIGHT
'Yehovah will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away' Revelation 21:4 (NKJV) There is a novel called The Storyteller, by Jodi Picoult. Part of it is about a Holocaust survivor, and despite the horror and the darkness, there are tender moments of light, love and laughter. It is a reminder that memory has such power; to paralyse, demoralise, discourage or cause pain. It is no wonder that many people have gone to great lengths to try to bury their dark moments, hiding it in...
YOU ARE BEING PRAYED FOR!
"Yeshua Hamashiach - is at the right hand of Yehovah and is also interceding for us" Romans 8:34, NIV It can be both humbling and encouraging to know that someone is praying for you. Maybe you have gone up to receive prayer after a meeting, and someone is spending time with you; listening to your needs and then praying Yehovah's love and blessing into your life. Perhaps Yehovah has spoken to someone else, and that person has come to you and offered His encouragement. Sometimes in worship, a friend's hand on your shoulder reassures you that you are not alone, and brings comfort. If...
THE NEW TEMPLE
'The glory of Yehovah filled the temple' 2 Chronicles 7:1 (NKJV) The temple had been finished and dedicated to Yehovah. The praise party was over, and the people had gone home. Then, in the stillness, Yehovah appeared to Solomon, and made him this promise: 'Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually' (2 Chronicles 7:15-16). It would be in that house, built for sacrifice and worship, that Yehovah promised that He would watch...
SOWING THE SEED
'You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain' Deuteronomy 25:4 (NKJV) In ancient days, an ox would be like the tractor of today, and once the seeds had been sown in the field, it would be essential to bury them in the ground, both to allow them to germinate, and to also prevent the birds from eating them. The farmer and the ox would walk back and forth across the field, treading down the seeds. The un-muzzled ox would eat some of the seed as it worked - just as the tractor needs fuel to keep going, so does the ox. As you sow and tread the seeds of the Word of Yehovah, so you...
THE OLIVE TREE
'But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of Yehovah.' Psalm 52:8 (NIV) David the psalmist describes his own heavenly wealth in terms of growth. When an olive tree flourishes, it starts to flower and blossom, and then to produce fruit. As birds and insects feed from the blossoms, and fly on to another place, so they pollinate more trees which produce more fruit. As people started to gather round David and learn from him, so they went on to pass it on to others, and continue the reproduction of fruit. To flourish in the house of Yehovah, you must be strong, both as an individual...
