KEEP PACE WITH YESHUA!

'Thinking he was in their company, they travelled on for a day.' Luke 2:44 (NIV) Make sure that you keep pace with Yeshua! It is easy to run on ahead of His leading through enthusiasm or ambition, but take time to check that He goes before you. There are a few things to be aware of: 1) Busyness: when you are busy with life and ministry, you can often switch to auto-pilot. Don't let serving Him take the place of walking with Him. Keep intimacy with Yeshua as your number one priority. 2) Presumption: don't fall into the trap of assuming that because something is a good idea, that it is...

Are You Extravagant In Your Worship?

Wherever the Gospel is preached… Matthew 26, Mark 14 & Luke 7 There are two occasions recorded in the Gospels when women washed Yeshua’s feet and, it appears, both of those were in Bethany. One of these times, as seen in John 12, was when Mary, Lazarus’s sister, washed Yeshua’s feet and anointed them with very costly spikenard. This was shortly after Yeshua had raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11). Mary was also the sister of Martha, who had complained to Yeshua that Mary should help her prepare food for the guests in the house, but Yeshua had defended Mary, saying she had chosen the...

MADE FOR INTIMACY

‘And Yehovah spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, “This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel…”.’ Numbers 6:22-24 (NKJV) It has always been Yehovah’s desire and plan that every man and woman, boy and girl, should live in a close, personal, intimate, one-to-one relationship with Him. Since creating Adam and Eve, He has sought that relationship with every person that has ever lived. Adam walked and fellowshipped with Yehovah in the cool of the evening, yet when he sinned it severed the daily fellowship that he had enjoyed with his creator. Ever since then,...

THE GOOD NEWS

‘And this is eternal life, that they may know You…, and Yeshua whom You have sent.’ John 17:3 The word ‘know’ implies a close, intimate and personal relationship, and this is what is on offer. The word ‘gospel’ means ‘good news’, yet many times, the emphasis of evangelism can be more along the lines of, ‘get saved, go to heaven and live forever, because if you do not you will go to hell.’ Now, while this is true, the gospel is that Yeshua has come to save people from their sins. If mankind will believe in Him, repent, and receive Him, they will be saved. This is surely good news! On one...

He Is A Wonderful Counsellor

“For unto us a child is born… his name shall be called… Wonderful Counsellor.” Isaiah 9:6 The ancient poem by John Donne says, “No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” Only a fool tries to navigate life on their own, being not only the captain of their own ship, but the ship builder, navigator, radio operator and every other crew member rolled into one, self-contained superhero. We all need one another, the talents, abilities, experience and, therefore, the input which that entails in order for us to navigate this life successfully....

Where Do You Turn In Times Of Need?

“For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.” Psalm 61:3 My old friend David has said, “Yehovah has a way of speaking to us in so many ways. For example, when I am facing a problem bigger than me and He whispered one word to me ‘GOSHEN.’ This was the place where the children of Israel were kept safe from plagues. Moments later I realised that Yeshua is my GOSHEN, my safe place, my hiding place, where no evil can befall me and no weapon formed against me shall prosper.”That reminds us of another David who, in Psalm 32:7, says ‘Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt...
