“We Will Meet Him In The Air, And We Will Be Like Him.”

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:17 In 1 Corinthians 15:52 we are told “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” Have you noticed how few churches ever mention the second coming or even “the end times”? It seems the closer we get to those things, the less they seem to be mentioned. Certainly, whenever the second coming will be, it is...

“You Lost Yeshua??!!”

“And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Yeshua tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.” Luke 2:43 We have, in Luke 2, the account of how Mary and Joseph lost the 12-year-old Yeshua, whom they knew was the Messiah, the Son of Yehovah and whom they had been tasked to raise from a baby to manhood. They had been to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover and, when it was finished, assuming He was traveling back home with family and friends, they set off without him. Now this was not a short-lived incident, lasting a few minutes while he was...

“Give Me A Hug!”

“But Yehovah commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Yeshua died for us.” Romans 5:8 An exotic dancer from a city centre night club met and surrendered her life to Yeshua. Some time later she took the decision to be baptised and, by way of a witness to her former friends and colleagues, she invited several dancers and bouncers to attend the event. That day the front two rows were left reserved for a group of people that, it must be said, had not been inside a church for many years, if ever. Of course, it could also be said that few of the regular congregants had...

HOSHIAH (3)

'You will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved' Matthew 10:22 (NKJV) Yeshua often said things which people knew were true, but they didn't want to hear! This little verse is in the middle of a longer speech about what life was going to be like for the fledgling body of believers; everyone was going to be persecuted, and even kicked out of their own homes. It is interesting that Yeshua was again talking about being 'saved' or being 'safe'. The disciples could have been forgiven for asking, 'So we are going to be put in prison, tortured, beaten,...

HOSHIAH (2)

'He will come and save you' Isaiah 35:4 (KJV) The Hebrew word 'Hoshiah is translated save' in translations of the Bible, however the full meaning of the word is actually much deeper. 'Hoshiah' means saves, heals, restores, delivers and makes whole. That gives a different understanding to salvation and to what Yeshua came to do; yes, He came to save the sinner, save the lost, but for what? Eternal life definitely, but not just that! He came to save mankind and restore them; deliver them from the evil that surrounds them, and the pull of the flesh within them. He came to make people whole;...

HOSHIAH (1)

"Who is this who even forgives sins" Then He said to the woman, 'Your faith has saved you. Go in Shalom.' Luke 7:49-50 (NKJV) One word that believers use to describe themselves is 'saved', but what does that actually mean? The Hebrew word that the Bible uses is 'Hoshiah', which means a lot more than just being 'safe'. Yeshua had an amazing ability to annoy people who thought that they had Yehovah all sorted out! He was always bursting people's bubbles, particularly when they put themselves between ordinary people and Yehovah. For example, take the occasion when Simon, a local religious...
