‘When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation’ Proverbs 10:25 (NKJV)

Sometimes, what you have built so far in this spiritual life can resemble the leaning tower of Pisa! It is going upwards, but it has a slant on it. You can try to put support structures around it, but Yehovah may have other, more drastic plans. Part of the work of Yehovah in your life, is the occasional whirlwind.  What happens here is that suddenly the skies darken, and everything that you have constructed flies up, and starts spinning. You wonder if it’s going to come down, where it’s going to come down, and what is going to come down. This can happen to you as an individual, or even as a corporate body of people. However, if you have built on the rock, your foundation will remain firm. Yehovah could be behind the demolishing of all that you have built, and for good reason. Yehovah is the constant factor. Because of who He is, you do not need to fear. Resolve, therefore, to put your trust and confidence in the unshakeable, unchanging, immoveable One. Change the words of the Psalm around a little: ‘Though the very ground beneath your feet gives way, and the goal posts of your life start moving, when you feel at the mercy of the ebb and flow of things, do not fear because Yehovah is where you can hide, and Yehovah will be the strength of your life; He is there in your worst moments when you think nobody cares or even notices’. If things in your life are falling, shaking or changing, have confidence in Yehovah; He knows the beginning from the end, and He holds you firm.
